A Happy Has-Been

The weekend went extremely well, and my MATCH and I filled all our time with fun and activities. We did yard work, a lot of long walks with Norman Bates, and I stayed on plan with my Rewards Meal being a breakfast meal out which included a crepe with bananas and custard, 2 eggs and 1 slice of bacon, toast and jam, tea and honey and even a drizzle of maple syrup. It was excellent and I felt wonderful afterwards. My best walking day ended with 24,000 steps!

We shot out to Kingston to see our friend and his new book release in which my MATCH designed the cover. Bill Welychka's "A Happy Has-Been" book release was at Tir na nog at the Prince George Hotel in Kingston! It was a wonderful crowd and Bill's awesome interview brought tears to my eyes (and his) several times. We have a very similar outlook on life, and I wish more of us could realize some of the things he spoke about. If you're a music person... you are going to love this book! Bill worked for Much Music for many years and interviewed a multitude of celebrities and he talks about those interviews and stories within the pages in the book.

I am so very proud of my husband for creating the perfect book cover for Bill. Find him at JayBird Digital Arts on FB! It was awesome to see them together at this event and I am so glad we went to support Bill.

We hit another Blue Zone requirement by doing so; had a glass of whiskey (J) and a glass of full-bodied red wine (Me) and enjoyed a salad with chicken and he had chicken wings while we visited with friends from Chinlock Wrestling who also showed up to support Bill. It was a social event that checked all the boxes of community and fun!

Sunday, I enjoyed a completely vegan eating day and prepped all my food for the beginning of this week. It was delightful and delicious. I had Quinoa salad with veggies and black beans,

Snow peas sauteed with olive oil. salt and pepper as a snack,

Roasted cashews and blue berries

Homemade onion & cabbage soup

Frozen cherries with peanut butter

lots of tea and water

All was amazing!

A busy week ahead at the Parlour and looking forward to seeing all my returning clients and new ones alike. Hoping you all had a wonderful week and that you will head out to visit Bill and grab your copy of his book. Here is his local schedule of visits he is making for book signing dates.

Find your copy online or in Chapters around Ontario!
